Mission Statement -- "To provide services to our youth through ministry, education and basketball".

Our Vision - "One conversation at a time, we strive to impact the lives of our youth and help provide

a solid faith-based foundation."

The Tarmac Foundation, Inc. knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. The CEO/Director of the Tarmac Foundation, Inc. is Susan Newhouse Burton.  Sometimes, God allows us to go through hardships to see the light that is shining through the broken glass.  Several years ago, while traveling back from Charlotte, NC, she sat in the airport and made a life-changing decision. When she went to board the plane, it was in that moment, that she realized the weight had been lifted and she was not alone. She had always had faith in God, but this time it was different.  She felt the strength in God, plowed on and vowed that if she ever had a business the name would be called Tarmac.

You see, tarmac defined is a set of crushed up rocks sealed together by tar and cement to create a solid foundation. To this day so many people stand on tarmacs daily not realizing the strength that lies beneath them.  Tarmacs all over the world have brought families together, held planes that transported heroes and carried baggage that has been in the lives of many for decades. Susan went back to school to obtain her MBA while still working full time and raising two kids.  As the years went on, Susan created a business called Tarmac Basketball that provided opportunities for youth, primarily girls ages 7-14 to learn the fundamentals of basketball, leadership skills and faith-based concepts. Tarmac Basketball has impacted over 250 girls since its inception in 2019. Through hard work and sacrifice, some girls have gone on to become CPR certified, some have gone on to continue to excel in basketball. Many have heard the word of God and now even know the meaning of the ten commandments.  Furthermore, the girls have acquired leadership skills they can utilize both on and off the court as well as new friends.

In planning for a future within this community Susan developed The Tarmac Foundation, Inc., With one common goal in mind, The Tarmac Foundation is committed to helping the lives of our youth become stronger, develop good moral character and be grounded in faith.  We strive to build honorable relationships through basketball, education and ministry-based fellowship programs. The Tarmac Foundation is built on faith and servant leadership concepts.

Tarmac for Tallahassee, FL and Uganda!!

Would you like to provide funding for  basketball courts in Uganda, Africa or maybe funding for local workshops, summer camp opportunities,  skill session scholarships, T-Shirts and basketball shoes to those who have the desire to participate in Tarmac Basketball? Our goal for this season is to raise $50,000 to help the youth in our community and abroad receive a small unexpected blessing.  Each basketball court in Uganda, costs approximately $10,000 to construct from start to finish. All things locally in Tallahassee range from $25-$350, so no donation is too small.
